Supporters and friends of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) demonstrated their love and preference when they trooped to the Rwang Pam Township Stadium Jos to await the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s flag bearer, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu for the flag-off of the party’s campaign.
People began to occupy the venue as early as 7am for an event slated to begin at 10 am.
As of 9:30 am the 45,000-capacity stadium was already filled to the brim.
The volume of attendants at the stadium increased following the public holiday declared by the State Government. This offered the opportunity to civil and public servants to show up.
Eventually, the stadium became a trade centre as markets for consumables cropped up. Specifically, food vendors, soft drink hawkers, newspaper vendors and pure water made brisk businesses.
At least, about 10,000 security personnel were deployed in Jos city with at least 5,000 of them in and around the stadium.
The wives of the APC Presidential candidate Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima the Vice Presidential candidate arrived the stadium together.
A team led by the Director General of the APC Campaign Council, Gov Simon Lalong is at the Yakubu Gowon Airport Heipang, Jos to receive top APC chieftains.
The crowd in the stadium is in a blissful mood patiently awaiting the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari, Tinubu as well as the national executives of APC.
