Namibia's president tests positive for Covid-19

Namibia's President Hage Geingob has tested positive for Covid-19.

First Lady Monica Geingos also tested positive for the virus and the couple is in isolation.

The Namibian presidency Twitter account said that the couple was in "good spirits":

Namibia has recorded 53,432 confirmed cases of the virus including 779 deaths, according to data published by the World Health Organization.

The country has administered 67,984 vaccine doses.
