Pay attention to these

4. “Nigeria should never have been on the list. It was included after paid right-wing American lobbyists were funded millions of dollars by IPOB to spread falsehoods and misinformation about Nigeria.

Same thing APC members did prior to the 2015 presidential election in Nigeria. Sponsored all sorts of damaging campaigns and misinformation about Nigeria just because they wanted GEJ and PDP out of power. 

They even lobbied the US not to sell arms to Nigeria Army that was confronting dangerous terrorists and a serving governor then accused GEJ, the then President and Gen Ihejirika the then Chief of Army Staff of killing Northerners because of what happened during Nigeria- Biafra civil war. A serving governor ooo!!!

The level of insecurity in Nigeria is high, in fact, very high but anyone that says that there is no freedom of worship in Nigeria to the extent of pushing the US to include Nigeria in the list of countries where people are not free to practice their preferred religion is far from the truth.

Sometimes when you talk to even Nigerians living abroad you would be wondering if they were talking about this Nigeria or another Nigeria.

Most of the people abroad that support and defend everything IPOB guys say strongly believe the well oiled propaganda that armed Fulani herdsmen have surrounded the whole of the South East region and that they are only waiting for a signal from the North to attack and finish all the Igbo people living in the South East so that they can take over the lands in the South East.

Adults believed and still believe this. They will point to one or two attacks or killings that had to do with armed Fulani herdsmen in the South East as evidence to support the outrageous claim even when PMB's home state in Katsina is worse off in terms of armed Fulani herdsmen attacks and bandits attacks same way a good number of Northern states have become very dangerous.

But people still believe the misinformation and based on that belief they contribute money and support whatever is done in the name of fighting those armed Fulani herdsmen that have 'surrounded the entire South East region and have been waiting for the signal to attack and finish every Igbo man in the South East'.

When some of us talk about the dangers of lies, misinformation and propaganda some clowns will accuse you of supporting the government.

There was a time some grown adults believed that boko haram was created to attack and kill Christians and Igbo people. Yes, Christians and Igbo people.

I usually asked those making this claim if they had any idea how many Christians and Igbo people boko haram terrorists have killed compared to Muslims and non Igbos in areas the terrorists have been operating and almost all the time the responses would range from 'you are just pro Islam', 'you are a Northern apologist' to 'you are anti Igbo' as if what makes one a good Igbo person is the person's ability to believe every single lie that is told by any Igbo person no matter how silly or ridiculous the lie is.

Today, that belief that boko haram was created to specifically target Christians and Igbos has basically collapsed because the facts do not support such.

The only people that benefit from lies, misinformation and propaganda are the people that craft and fabricate them. Some of the people that believe and defend them might be ignorant of the motives behind them yet they would be ready to wage a war on an issue they barely understand.
