SECURITY operatives, including troops of the Nigerian Army and the policemen, on Sunday, evening repelled terrorists’ attack at Barawa village, Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Sources said the terrorists stormed the village a few minutes after 7pm and were about unleashing terror on residents when the security team swooped on them.

The security operatives were said to have impounded and burnt six of the motorcycles which the terrorists used to invade the village.
The spokesman for the state police command, Gambo Isah, confirmed the development on Tuesday.
Isah said, “On March 6, 2022 at about 7.30 pm, a distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, armed with AK 47 rifles were sighted on motorcycles, on a heinous mission to Barawa village, Batagarawa Local Government Area of the state.
“A combine team of police and military mobilised to the area, engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel and successfully repelled them.
“The operational strategy and gallantry displayed by the combine team, made the terrorists to abandon their heinous mission and fled from the scene.”
