Raids carried out to detect substandard and unfit food

During this New Year festive season, several special food health raids were carried out by the Athuraliya Medical Officer of Health at Thibbotuwawa, Godapitiya, targeting areas, where substandard and unfit food were being sold by vendors.

Measures were taken to legally destroy unfit and expired food worth about Rs.20,000 from the shops inspected.

The raid was led by Athuraliya Administrative Public Health Inspector A.C Jayaweera. Public Health Inspectors Nadeesh Malshan Jayasinge , K.M. Manamperi, and A.N. Weerasinghe, also participated in this raid.
