The lists of essential drug varieties that are urgently required at present would be published in the website of the GMOA and the names of supplying organizations too would be displayed for the donors to purchase and donate to Sri Lanka.
As of now many Sri Lankans who are living abroad have expressed their consent to assist the GMOA for this purpose by donating necessary drugs. Both government and private hospitals countrywide are now undergoing this shortage of drugs due to the non-availability of dollars experienced by the Sri Lankan Government and within the next two months, if early action is not taken this trend may aggravate.
That is why the GMOA has decided to do so right now, said Dr. Senal Fernando, Secretary to the GMOA speaking to Daily News today (11) in Kurunegala.
