A statement released from State House Entebbe on Sunday indicated that President Museveni and President Kagame had agreed to push for a joint regional peace and stability by addressing the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as the East African community block.
Kagame flew into the country on Sunday at the invitation of Museveni and the First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni for a dinner to honor their son Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is also the Commander Land Forces as he celebrated his 48th birthday.
The State House statement indicated that Museveni said the problems affecting the region like the crisis in DRC need a collective approach from all the regional partners.
“This time we must insist on working together because these people have suffered a lot. I told President Kenyatta that if we don’t come in as a region, DRC may become like Sudan,” Museveni said.
